Special Indulgences granted by the Holy See
"On February 2, 2013, feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the Apostolic Penitentiary, under the special powers granted to it by the Holy Father, readily grants a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions duly completed (sacramental confession, Holy Communion and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father). So that the faithful may receive this Plenary Indulgence at the Płock Shrine dedicated to the Divine Mercy, they must be truly repentant of their sins.
In order to obtain such an indulgence, one is to participate in a sacred function or pious exercise in honor of Divine Mercy, or at least perform - at an appropriate time - a pious meditation dedicated to the Merciful Jesus (for example: "Jesus, I trust in you") and finished with the Lord's Prayer and the recitation of the Apostles Creed, on the following days:
a) The Second Sunday of Easter, called the Sunday of Divine Mercy;
b) The 22nd day of each month;
c) Once a year: on any day of the faithful's own selection;
d) Any days of holy pilgrimage conducted at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Płock.
This Decree is valid for seven years. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary."
